“Perspective” – to see things as they really are and not as they may appear.  

 

I.                   Their Peers

 

Þ    Two men – Joshua and Caleb

Þ    Ten men – Ammiel, Gaddiel, Nahbi, Geuel, Sethur, Shammua, Shaphat, Igal, Palti and Gaddi

 

They had different perspectives.

 

 

II.                Their Positions

 

A.     These men were leaders.

B.     These men were lucky.

 

III.             Their Plan

 

“Spy out the land which I am giving to the children of Israel . (2)

 

Ø      4 times he mentions the land

Ø      1 time he mentions the people

Ø      1 time he mentions the cities  

 

IV.              Their Proclamation

 

A.     They all agreed on the important things.

B.     They all disagreed on the unimportant things.

V.                 Their Perspectives

 

A.     10 Spies - We can't do it.

B.     2 spies - Let's go for it!

 

This is not an overconfident statement but an overcomers statement.

 

VI.              Our Perspectives

 

U      Much of success or failure depends upon our perspective.

 

U      We cannot always choose our circumstances but we can always choose our perspective.

 

U      It’s all a matter of perspective.
